An Attempt to cartoonize my dog, First Series of his Comic Strips
70Peso Comics is in tagalog (Filipino)
How did it all start?
This is maybe weird to some, but Mario Peso is such a special dog that I want his life cycle different from other dogs. I know whether I like it or not, he will have a shorter life span than I do, so I thought of things that would make him very memorable not only to me but to other people too that can become parts of our lives.
Peso was six years old when I asked my Artist friend to at least come up with a very short comics story where Peso will be the lead star. I just sent him Peso's photo in almost all angles, and since I can't think of story at that time, my friend initiated to do everything, and he just showed me the finished product.
Mga Kwento ni Peso means
It is called Mga Kwento ni Peso or Peso Stories or Peso Adventures. As you can see below the title, "Strip 1 series 2006". This is our first attempt and sadly there was no follow up yet, and my artist friend already transferred to another job, but then the last time we talked I submitted to him the script for the 2nd strip, and he is just waiting for my go signal.
One Sunny Day
Narrations
One Sunny afternoon while waiting for Big Sis Cel, Mario Peso strolled, when suddenly he smelled something interesting and quite yummy?
He wanted to know where that smell came from
Next Narration
When he was sure where the scent came from, adventurous Peso ran thinking that other dogs might find it before him
And he found it
Next Narration
and he found a big bone partly stuck up on land. He thought ohh Jackpot....
He got it but
Without reservation or second thoughts, Naughty Mario Peso grabbed the bone right away, but he realized it was deeply stuck in the soil, and he can't get it in one strong pull using his mouth..
He digs and digs and digs
He digged the soil to get the bone freely, Peso is a very impatient dog that he digged exagerrately.......
Shock of his life
Digging to much made him realized what he just digged accidentally.....
Waahh hahahaha
in Comics Everything is possible
so Mario Peso accidentally digged a still intact Dinasour skeleton...
What is the artist's explanation why Peso was dressed up like a little boy in his comics strip? he said he based it on me, on my fondness about my dogs. whenever I tell stories about his cleverness. His imagination is telling him that Peso is like a younger brother to me..

Awww! Maria, this is so adorable! And I love the idea of keeping your dog's personality alive through a cartoon script. I can completely understand that because of how much I love my cats. In fact, I had started writing a story, or book about them, but don't know where it will go!
This is great!
